"We love beautiful books! And as book lovers, we don't merely decorate with books, we want to enjoy them.  That's why shelves and stacks of closed art books inspired me to create Eclipse. With Eclipse, I can display colorful books, gaze across the room at spectacular images, and create colorful arrangements."

- Valerie L. Myers Ph.D., Designer

Sculpture when you want it; a media stand when you need it.

Valerie wanted more pleasure from the pages of her vast collection of art books. She also wanted a sleek, space-saving way to manage magazines. After extensively searching, Valerie realized the need for something even more essential -- a form that's beautiful when empty, not a typical bucket, bin, or sorter.

Valerie turned to nature for inspiration and was intrigued a luminous lunar eclipse. After experimenting with different materials, she chose acrylic to highlight the precise, ethereal geometry of these rare celestial movements.

Eclipse has been exhibited at: the Robert Kidd Gallery (Birmingham, MI), Detroit Institute of Arts gift shop, the Michigan Modernism Art & Antiques Show (Southfield, MI), and a College for Creative Studies juried alumni exhibition (CCS below), where she studied Industrial Design. Valerie designed products and exhibits for the automotive industry, then later earned her doctoral degree from the University of Michigan.
